Hello,
I've recently been running beta tests for a fansite that I've made. Now that the tests are over, I'm pleased to present the result and invite everyone to take a look.
TibiaQA.com
What is TibiaQA?
TibiaQA is a knowledge base for Tibia. It is a board of questions and answers, properly categorized by tags. TibiaQA allows any player to ask questions and gather answers from the community.
How is TibiaQA different from other forums?
First of all, TibiaQA is not a discussion board. We do not allow starting any topics that aren't actual questions. Similar, all the posts under that question must attempt to provide an answer to the original question. No other content is allowed. Comments can be posted under a selected question/answer to ask for clarification/improvement. This strict policy allows to keep the board clean and contain only valuable content.
Both questions and answers can be voted on by other community members to indicate how usefull the posted content is. The higher the score for an answer, the higher it displays. The answer with the most votes displays at the top.
The site also offers powerful search engine. Users can look for a specific question or browse them per tag. The site will also perform a check for similar questions before users post a new one, to reduce a number of created duplicates.
How does community participate?
The site is nearly entirely run by users. Users provide the content by asking and answering questions. Users vote questions and answers up or down. Users flag inappropriate content to hide it from the site. Users review and approve/reject posts from unregistered users. Finally users can also edit and re-tag questions or hide the post entirely from the site.
The privileges listed above are awarded gradually, as the user gains reputation points.
How to gain reputation points?
Providing usefull content allows users to gain reputation points and in consequence - gain new moderation privileges. Posting questions and answers and receiving up votes for them gives users points. Down votes on the other hand reduce user points.
The full table, listing activities that alter user points is available in our FAQ
Other than reputation points, users can also collect badges, which are like achievements. You can take a look at the list of available badges
How to start?
You do not even have to register. You can post your questions and answers as unregistered user. Please note though, that posts by unregistered users must go through moderation first, so it may take up to a few hours before they appear. Unregistered users also cannot collect reputation points and badges.
If you wish to join as registered user - creating an account takes less than a minute.
Sounds interesting? Pay a visit to TibiaQA.com and help us build a knowledge base for Tibia for all of the community to enjoy.
